Offworld Industries asks if you would like to know more?

Offworld Industries and Sony Pictures Consumer Products just revealed Starship Troopers: Extermination. This is a new, upcoming 12-player co-op shooter that will pit you against an evil threat, a bug threat. You and up to 11 of your friends will build up defenses and fight against the Arachnid threat just like the 1997 cult-classic film, Starship Troopers, taught us how.

An Early Access release for Starship Troopers: Extermination is coming to Steam at some point in 2023. The developer, Offworld Industries, does have some experience with creating co-op style shooters. They are the same studio behind Squad, the teamwork-focused, realistic military simulator.

For this initial release, players will be on the front lines against the Arachnids. You play as a Trooper in the Deep Space Vanguard, "an elite Special Forces group within the Mobile Infantry." When it comes to weapons, information was a little lacking. We do know that you will get to utilize the Morita Assault Rifle, as shown in the movies.

Part of the game involves completing objectives, acquiring resources, and then building up your own defensible bases. There will be at least three playable classes with progression systems, five unique bug types, various difficulty levels, and more. I'm not expecting this one to be a $59.99 (USD) game when it releases, but actual pricing has not yet been announced yet either.
