Is this surprising? Is this really news?
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

If you really thought that the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 would be free, I really don't know what to tell you. It won't be free. This was confirmed by CD Projekt Red PR director Radek Grabowski in an interview with Games Radar.

Those of you familiar with how CD Projekt Red handles post-release content probably expected this expansion to have a cost associated with it. When it came to The Witcher 3, CDPR put a price tag on the game's two major expansions and Phantom Liberty will be no different for Cyberpunk 2077.

Confusion may have come about because in addition to these paid expansions, CD Projekt Red typically does offer a lot of free content for their games after release. Phantom Liberty is a big larger in scope than these free updates though and will include new story content, new characters, new areas to explore, new cosmetics, new weapons, and more.

Though Grabowski confirmed that Phantom Liberty would be a premium expansion, a set price was not provided. The Witcher 3's Heart of Stone was $9.99 (USD) at release. The more robust Blood and Wine expansion cost $19.99. All we have confirmed for pricing is that it will be "cheaper than full-priced games." That places it anywhere from $0.01 to $59.98.
