A new report by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with Sony's operations, say that the company is looking to produce two million PlayStation VR2 units between September 2022 and March 2023. Though an actual release date for PSVR 2 has not yet been revealed, this production window seems to indicate that the hardware could be released either inside it or just after March 2023.

At present, the current official release window for PlayStation VR2 has it set for an "early 2023" release.

Bloomberg's report also indicates that PSVR 2 isn't really facing the same supply chain issues that have plagued other hardware recently. This could allow Sony to produce more than the currently rumored two million units in that same span of time, depending on demand and launch sales.

On the flipside, due to the current state of the global economy and rising inflation rates, Sony may find that they need to cut production as consumers may become "wary of spending on non-essential items." We already saw Sony increase the price of the PlayStation 5 due to the rising costs of literally everything.
