Sony's next generation of VR hardware is just a few short months away.
PlayStation VR2

Multiple PlayStation social media accounts have confirmed that PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) will be released in the early part of 2023. The release window was confirmed through the official PlayStation Instagram account, various PlayStation regional Twitter accounts, and even the official Twitter account for The Game Awards for whatever that's worth.

PSVR 2 is set to feature an OLED display with resolutions hitting 2000x2040 pixels per eye. The device will feature refresh rates of up to 120Hz, HDR support, a roughly 100 degree field of view, inside-out tracking, foveated rendering, and more. The full technical details on the headset and VR2 Sense Controllers were disclosed back in January. Even with these impressive specs and technological improvements, PSVR 2 will require a wired connection with a PlayStation 5 in order to operate.

At launch, Sony says there will be over 20 games available for their new VR device. There will also be several exclusive PSVR 2 games coming including Horizon Call of the Mountain.
