  • EA Honors Massive FIFA 23 Pricing Error

A discount of almost 99.9% will be honored by EA.
    FIFA 23

For a brief period of time, pre-orders of FIFA 23 went on sale via the Epic Games Store in India for just 4.80 rupees. A quick conversion turns those 4.80 rupees into just $0.06 (USD).

If this price error wasn't bad enough, it wasn't for the basic version of FIFA 23, which retails for 3,499 rupees (or about $44 USD). The pricing error was actually for the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23, which normally retailed for 4,799 rupees (or about $60 USD). This means that for a small window of time, you could pre-purchase FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition for a massive 99.98% off.

Fortunately, every person that managed to take advantage of the error prior to it getting fixed will get to keep their orders. EA actually sent an email out to every Epic Games Store user that managed to snag FIFA 23 for $0.06.

"A few weeks back, we scored a pretty spectacular own-goal when we inadvertently offered FIFA 23 pre-purchase on the Epic Games Store at an incorrect price. It was our mistake, and we wanted to let you know that we'll be honoring all pre-purchases made at that price."
EA did not state publicly just how many people managed to take advantage of the pricing error before it was fixed.

If you still want to pick up FIFA 23, you will have to do so at regular price. FIFA 23 on PC will at least have feature parity with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Unfortunately, FIFA 23 will also still make use of loot box mechanics for its Ultimate Team mode.

      New tournaments join returning tournaments.

Electronic Arts and FIFA just announced a larger and "evolved" EA Sports FIFA 20 esports series. This means new competitions and returning football (soccer for some of us) league tournaments. This also means online tournaments that will replace the EA Sports FIFA 20 Global Series including the FIFA eWorld Cup. These new additions and returning competitions are an extension of the popular EA Sports FIFA Stay and Play Cup.
