Development studio The Dust just announced I, The Inquisitor. This new game currently in development is an action-adventure story-driven game based on a book series by author Jacek Piekara. In this book series, Jesus of Nazareth didn't take too kindly to being crucified, responding not with forgiveness but with rage.
In the centuries that follow, His followers vow to carry out Biblical justice against those that have committed crimes and transgressions against the faith. You play as Mordimer Madderdin in the 1500s. As Mordimer you will either show mercy to those transgressors or punish them with a righteous fury. Naturally, there is a larger evil at work that you will uncover while playing. This evil originates in another realm and is trying to enter into the world of the living.
The combat will be mostly focused on melee with an emphasis on swords. While seeking out answers, players will also make use of some detective-like abilities to interrogate NPCs.
I, The Inquisitor is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
