Get ready for the "future of PS5" next week.

Sony has finally announced a major showcase event and it's happening sooner than you may have anticipated. On September 9 at 1PM (PT), Sony will hold the PlayStation Showcase 2021. This event will offer fans a "sneak peek at the future of PS5, with updates from PlayStation Studios and industry-leading devs."

The entire event will run around 40 minutes. It will show off games that will be releasing this holiday season and beyond.

Though you'll never know what Sony will show off during the event, they did specify one thing that they will not have at the event: PlayStation VR 2. They just flat out say that their next-gen VR solution will not be shown off during this event, only PlayStation 5 games.
