The aliens aren't coming, they're already here.

Fortnite lore is weird. Yes, the battle royale game does have lore and a lot of it. The latest story beat kicked off today with Chapter 2 Season 7. The latest season is entitled "INVASION" and yes, it involves aliens. It also includes a Rick and Morty crossover as well? There's probably more but it's hard to keep up with all of it.

Anyway, according to today's announcement, "the fate of the island is at stake." While fighting other players, you will come across characters "who embrace the invasion, oppose it, or just want to keep fishing."

Players will be able to fight back against flying saucers. You can either shoot them down or hijack them and pilot them for your own gain. You will be able to pick up and transport objects if you want. New weapons and gadgets include the new Recon Scanner, a Rail Gun, and the Flexible Pulse Rifle. The aliens will soon bring a Kymera Ray Gun "and more" as the season progresses.


Players will also be able to make custom aliens thanks to cosmetic unlocks in the new Battle Pass. Throughout the season, you'll be able to collect alien artifacts to claim additional styles for Kymera. You will be able to choose from different head shapes, eye colors, skin patterns, and more to make your alien.
