A mod that was up on Nexus Mods allowed Cyberpunk 2077 players to have awkward sex with Keanu Reeves was shut down by CD Projekt Red. Essentially, this mod was a character swap that placed Johnny Silverhand as one of the game's sex workers. It apparently wasn't all that great of a swap because Johnny never takes off his clothes and the lines are those of the game's Joytoy that he replaces, but alas... people were still probably really into it.

This mod was first spotted by Eurogamer, wherein they put up a story about the mod. Shortly thereafter the mod was removed from Nexus Mods with the reason of "clearing things out with CDPR." Though the mod was removed, you can still see all of the "hot" "action" below.

Er, well then.

CD Projekt Red released a public statement about the takedown of the mod.

"Our most important rule regarding user-generated content, game mods in particular, is that it can’t be harmful towards others. In the case of model swaps, especially those that involve explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077.

"Therefore, when making fan content, creators have to make sure they’ve got permission from all the concerned parties. For the characters we’ve invented for the game, we broadly permit you to tweak the game at will and just have fun. When it comes to models of real people whom we’ve asked to participate in the game, we kindly ask you to refrain from using them in any situation that might be found offensive if you don’t have their explicit permission."
Of course, Keanu Reeves isn't the game's only celebrity. Without nipping this in the bud now, who knows where these mods would eventually lead. Could you eventually romance Hideo Kojima, whom has a bit part in Cyberpunk 2077? I mean, maybe. Of course, just by mentioning it you know that it's going to be inevitable, even if the mod for that would be very short lived. It's also probably impossible to fully stop the distribution of these types of mods, but it seems as though it's a battle that CD Projekt Red is willing to take on.

This mod was made less than a day after CD Projekt Red released the official modding tools for Cyberpunk 2077.
