Deadline reports today that they now know who will be portraying Solid Snake up on the big screen. According to their sources, none other than Oscar Isaac is the new face of Solid Snake in the Hollywood adaptation of a Metal Gear Solid film.

The script is being penned by Derek Connolly. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is set to serve as the film's director, and Avi Arad is producing the film. Of course, this film is based off of the video game of the same name that was created by Hideo Kojima back when he was still employed at Konami. Hey, remember Konami?

Now, despite what Deadline says, Metal Gear Solid did not come out in 1987 on the PlayStation. Metal Gear Solid came out in 1998 on the PlayStation. The first entry in the franchise, Metal Gear, came out in 1987 on platforms like the MSX2 and NES.

Oscar Isaac was most recently in films such as Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. He played Poe Dameron in the new trilogy, assuming you've seen the new Star Wars films. He will also have a role in the upcoming Dune film, which is slated to be released in 2021.
