The future is Doom'ed.
DOOM 64

Even though this news already arrived earlier this month, I guess Bethesda wanted to make sure we all knew about it. In case you have not heard, Doom 64 is confirmed as a free pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal. Doom Eternal won't be out until March 20, 2020. Doom 64 also won't be out until March 20, 2020.

Previously, Doom 64 was announced only for the Switch, but it will be a free pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal pre-orders on the Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Going back to the Switch release, it won't be out alongside the other versions on March 20. However, you will be able to get a free copy of it if you pre-order Doom Eternal, but you will have to wait until Doom Eternal is released.

It sounds confusing, but it's super not.

So, if you're paying attention here:
  • Doom 64 and Doom Eternal are out on March 20, 2020 for the PS4, XB1, and PC.
  • Doom 64 will be available to purchase on the Switch on March 20, 2020.
  • Doom 64 is a free pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal on all platforms.
  • Doom Eternal with the free Doom 64 release will be released "at a later date."
In short: If you pre-order Doom Eternal now, in the future, or whenever up until it's released on your platform of choice, you will get Doom 64 for free with it when Doom Eternal releases.

Hey, here's a new trailer for Doom 64 along with some history for those of you who never played this when it was out on the Nintendo 64.
