Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is out today for all of your MMORPG wants and desires. Square Enix says that thanks to this new expansion's release, the active player base for Final Fantasy XIV has hit its highest mark in the game's six year history. Wow, this game has been out for six years already? I suppose it would be closer to 9 years if Square Enix didn't completely rework most of the game and relaunch it after its abysmal 2010 debut.

Shadowbringers brings a lot of hot new content to the table. Players will get to explore areas outside of Hydaelyn for the first time. They will get to visit the First and the realm of Norvrandt. Warriors of Light must become Warriors of Darkness to restore the night and save the world from a little thing I like to call the apocalypse that the Flood of Light promises. Yup, that's a fantasy-esque story if ever there was.

There are two new jobs to play: Dancer and Gunbreaker. There are new player races: Viera and Hrothgar. There is now New Game+, an increase to the level cap, a new trust system, and more. There is also a new 24-player raid, based off of NieR and was designed by Yoko Taro himself. The other raid is from Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura's raid, Eden, will be out on July 16, 2019.

The launch trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is below. A free trial to Final Fantasy XIV can be found here. It lets you play up to level 35 if you want. And if you don't yet own Shadowbringers, you can purchase it right now for $39.99 (USD) for Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Steam. There is also a digital collector's edition for $59.99 if you want that instead. I hope that covers all of the bases here.
