Apex Legends

It's been a real rollercoaster of a 24 hours for Titanfall fans. First we saw the release of Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment. This is a new free-to-play battle royale game that is actually pretty damn good. A bit later in the day, it was revealed that Respawn is not working on TItanfall 3.

Oof, right? A real punch to the gut for fans of Titanfall 2. But, what's this? Is there hope? There just might be!

Respawn CEO Vince Zampella took to Twitter today to reveal that they are "working on more Titanfall" that is apparently slated to arrive later this year. Oh my.

So there's some hope? Well, just wait a second here. Maybe he's talking about a VR game they're supposedly working on?

If we take both this news here and yesterday's news about the studio not actively working on Titanfall 3, we can assume that this additional Titanfall content isn't a direct sequel, but rather something else. Or maybe yesterday's reveal was wrong and they are working on Titanfall 3? Or maybe they're working on releasing Titanfall on the PlayStation 4 (remember it was exclusive to Xbox)? Or maybe it's a mobile game? It's probably a mobile game. Damn.

Whatever it ends up being, it's just good to know that the world of Titanfall continues on in some fashion. Hopefully we'll see a true follow-up to the Titanfall 2 story somewhere down the line.
