Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation....

Apex Legends Devs Call Some Toxic Players 'Ass-hats' and 'Freeloaders'

    (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

The Apex Legends subreddit has seen better days. Recently, developers Respawn Entertainment had to make some changes to how their Iron Crown Event cosmetic skins were sold after fans complained that it was absurd they were tied to RNG loot boxes. The team at Respawn announced some upcoming changes that will allow those that wanted the skins to buy them directly for $18 (USD).

The Reddit thread announcing the changes also included an attempt at apologizing to the community. To say that it didn't go over too well may be a bit of an...

Respawn Updates Iron Crown Event Cosmetic Prices after Criticism

Changes coming soon to event skins and pricing.

Respawn Entertainment have announced plans to change how they are offering skins and other content for their currently ongoing Iron Crown Collection Event. Players weren't too thrilled about the price that Respawn was asking for the event specific RNG based loot boxes surprise mechanic boxes. The boxes, called Iron Crown Collection Packs, gave you a chance to get one of 24 different themed items.

The boxes cost a fair bit when purchased using real money. Some would say it cost way, way too much...

Respawn to Force Apex Legends Cheaters to Play Each Other

That's one way of dealing with cheaters.

Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Apex Legends, says that they will soon begin to implement a new method of anti-cheat in their still fairly popular battle royale title. Unlike many other methods of anti-cheat, this one aims to issue softbans against known cheaters.

In short, this means that people who are detected to be cheating will be matched up only against others who have been found to be cheating. These people will not be matched up against those who are legitimate players. That is, of course,...

A new developer blog went up a short time ago today from Respawn Entertainment. The studio, known best for their work on the Titanfall games and the recently released Apex Legends battle royale title, revealed a bit about what they're going to focus on for the time being.
