Subnautica: Below Zero has been released into Early Access today on the Epic Games Store (non-affiliate link here), through Discord, and on Steam. The game is set one year after the events in the original Subnautica. This time, the (mostly) underwater exploration takes place near an alien research station on Planet 4546B.
This game is very much the definition of "Early Access" in that the release lacks content and is very buggy. Those who went through the long stretch of Subnautica development probably already know what to expect here.
This frozen underwater adventure is a work in progress. As we did with Subnautica, we are building Below Zero out in the open. With your help, we will craft a worthy follow up to the original game.
Below Zero is full of bugs, runs poorly, and includes only a small portion of our planned features. It's also a game we're excited about. If you join us, we think you might enjoy this journey through Early Access.
