TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
Cue the gif of Beyonce saying "God is real" here. I am elated to say that one of my all-time favorite franchises, may actually make a comeback. This belief comes following the announcement that THQ Nordic has acquired the rights to TimeSplitters.
Timesplitters was largely considered as one of the most influential console games of the early 2000’s. The three game series earned a large and passionate fan base thanks to its unique humour, art style and pop culture references while encouraging customization and modification to give each person their own individual experience. Timesplitters was originally created by the development studio Free Radical Design that later become Deep Silver Dambuster, part of the THQ Nordic group.

You're damn right those were some of the most influential games! I spent countless hours playing the multiplayer modes for TimeSplitters, in addition to going through the campaigns.

Oh yes, it was also revealed in this announcement that they have picked up the rights to the sci-fi action-adventure game, Second Sight. Second Sight came out back in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and then later for the PC. It, like the TimeSplitters games, was developed by Free Radical Design.

Free Radical Design was mainly made up of former Rare developers. If you're wondering why TimeSplitters was so good, it's because many of these devs previously worked on GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. It's also why whenever I see the UI for GoldenEye, I am reminded of TimeSplitters. Free Radical Design eventually became Dambuster Studios. Dambuster Studios is owned by Deep Silver. Deep Silver is owned by THQ Nordic.

But back to the more important news here: THQ hasn't said yet what they plan to do with the TimeSplitters IP. However, I can only hope that they will release all the things for this franchise. Give me remasters of the original games. Give me new games. Just...
