  • Bethesda Teasing New Fallout Announcement

    In the past hour, Bethesda began what looks like the lead up to a new Fallout reveal. The first teaser came via their Twitter account, as seen below.

    The second is now coming from their Twitch page, which is showing off the image you see at the top here.


    If it is an entirely new Fallout game, say Fallout 5, it would be a bit out of the ordinary for Bethesda. They typically alternate Fallout and Elder Scrolls releases. Fallout 4 was released back in 2015, while the last mainline Elder Scrolls game was released back in 2011. Of course, that last Elder Scrolls game was Skyrim and it has been re-released for pretty much anything with a functional CPU over the past seven years.

    There is also a rumor kicking about that this "new" Fallout is actually a remaster of Fallout 3. Bethesda does indeed enjoy re-releasing games after all. Though between this and Rage 2, it will be interesting to see what they have to show at E3 next month.

        Skyrim was still a relatively recent game when they remastered it, it hasn't aged as much as the games on their previous engine, i'm not sure giving the same graphical updates to Fallout 3 will have the same benefits, without also tweaking animation and other elements of the world.

        Side note, i still haven't played Fallout 4.

          You aren't missing much.

          And realistically, Fallout 3 would need a full remake instead of just a simple remaster. Or they could stop doing remasters and just make something new...

          Edit: Better idea: Make nice with Obsidian and let them do a new Fallout.

            My money is on some kind of FO4 port for the switch. After Skyrim, Doom and Wolf 2 it's plausible.
