Friday the 13th: The Game will forego the obvious release date in favor of a May 26 release on the PC, PS4, and XB1. I suppose it's probably a good thing that they're doing this seeing as how the next Friday the 13th isn't until this October.
According to the launch trailer (seen below), the game will go for $40 on all platforms.
I watched some dev trailers on this game a long time ago and I still can't tell if its going to be one of the best horror games ever made or if it will fall short.
If the game is stable and doesn't have any crazy bugs I think it might be really good.

If the beta is anything to go on, it's a competent 4v1 style horror survival game. The thing is, while it does seem to do some things differently, the feeling at the time was that it wasn't quite as good as Dead By Daylight. I say this because the beta was happening right around the height of Dead By Daylight.
With DBD kind of falling by the wayside for most people, I'm sure this game's release will see some good success from people wanting something new in that genre/style of game.

The team that aimed to resurrect the asymmetrical multiplayer title received a cease and desist letter from legal representation for Horror, Inc., the owner of the Friday the 13th film franchise.
Plus a 2v8 mode was also revealed and coming soon.

During the stream, two of the upcoming six planned Chapters for Dead by Daylight were shared. These include chapters for Dungeons & Dragons and another for Castlevania. On top of that, details on the anticipated 2v8 mode...
