  • Kuma and Panda Join the Tekken 7 Roster

Street Fighter V may get Akuma later this month, but they sure aren't getting a panda bear like Tekken 7 is! That's right, Kuma and Panda are joining the fight in Tekken 7. on to p of that, Bandai Namco announced some new details about the Online Tournament Mode. It's a great day to be a Tekken fan!
For the uninitiated, Kuma serves as both pet and bodyguard for Heihachi Mishima and is trained in the Heihachi-style Kuma Shinken. Possessing great strength and intelligence, Kuma is a powerful foe to all that care to step in the ring to face his deadly claws and fearsome fangs.

Panda on the other hand takes a softer approach in her disposition. Introduced in TEKKEN 3 as Ling Xiaoyu’s pet and protector, Panda learned the same Heihachi-style Kuma Shinken style of fighting when she traveled to the Mishima Industrial College to train in martial art in preparation to participate in the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. Finally a fun fact; it is well known that Kuma has a big crush on Panda, but unfortunately for Kuma… Panda has no interest in him.

We’re also sharing details about the new Online Tournament Mode that will be part of the TEKKEN 7 console experience. The TEKKEN 7 Online Tournament Mode will enable players to create and participate in their own online tournaments with up to eight competitors. Tournament organizers can select single or double elimination rules and set up passwords for secured tournament entry and spectating (Spectator Mode). Winners of online tournaments may win in-game items such as fight money and other items.

There is even a new trailer for Kuma and Panda.

TGN's nonaffiliated self proclaimed Tekken expert is happy.

However i hate when people make statements which leave things unclear and don't bother to clarify them later, "...the new Online Tournament Mode that will be part of the TEKKEN 7 console experience.", so console only then? Not available in the PC version? ... I assume they don't expect the PC version to have a large enough community, so if they're putting less of a focus on it what else will be missing from that version?

    Tekken World Tour 2019 Announced
    by Shawn Zipay

The Tekken World Tour 2019 was officially announced today. This new esports tournament series returns thanks to a partnership between Bandai Namco and Twitch. As you may safely assume, Twitch will be the go-to location to watch all of the latest Tekken 7 action. New this year for the World Tour is "more action" along with new locations, returning favorites (whatever that means), and "innovative tournament categories enabling more players to earn Tekken World Tour Ranking Points."

This is all on top of a prize pool that totals over $185,500 (USD). The World Tour Finals will have a $100,000 baseline prize purse for the best players. All of this begins on April 20, 2019 in France. ...
