According to Polygon, there will not be any pre-release review copies of Mafia III being sent out.

According to a telephone conversation between the outlet and a 2K representative, 2K Games has decided not to make the game available to any outlet prior to release. The practice of not sending out advance copies to reviewers is typically the exception to the rule. DOOM was one such title and despite fears of it being a bad game because of this, it turned out to be one of the best games of 2016.

The earliest that anybody will have the game is at 4AM (PT) on Thursday, October 6. Of course, some retailers may break this street date (they always do).
