FIFA 17 is Powered by Frostbite

EA Sports announced today that FIFA 17 is being powered by the Frostbite game engine.

Those who pre-order FIFA 17 Super Deluxe Edition will get up to 40 FIFA Ultimate Team Jumbo Premium Gold Packs, Team of the Week loan players, and other FIFA Ultimate Team content.

The above trailer seems to be just a taste of the new gameplay reveal. EA promises to show off more during their EA Play livestream, which is at 1PM (PT) on June 12. FIFA 17 is out September 27 Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in North America and September 29 in Europe and the rest of the world.

  Goodbye Ignite engine. For all the butt kissing EA did for you in 2015 for 2016's sports games, you're still getting thrown out in favor of EA's universal engine for racing and action games (hoping for destructible fields like the ball smashing into a video banner ad, or something).
  
  But I will say it's totally worth it, now that FIFA 17 and Frostbite is recreating FIFA International Soccer. Like damn, look at that screenshot! They're bringing back the retro style of their classic FIFA games and it looks so authentic! Frostbite really captures that pixel art style perfectly in great detail.
