The Halo 5 sandbox known as the Forge is coming for free to a Windows 10 system near you. Yes, this is a standalone sandbox application for Windows 10 and does not include Halo 5 proper.Forge is kind of like Creative mode in Minecraft. You will be able to place objects and items in an environment. You can make Rube Goldberg type machines, game modes, minigames, art, or whatever you want really. Those on Windows 10 will have the benefit of using a mouse and keyboard to move and place objects. And while you somewhat play these creations in Windows 10, those on the Xbox One will benefit the most.
In addition to the evolutions already present in the mode on Xbox One, Forge – Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 will include some exciting new features designed specifically with PC users in mind, including:
• Keyboard & Mouse Support – For the first time ever, Forgers will have the option of using a keyboard & mouse allowing for more precision control than ever before.
• Increased Resolution – Support for multiple resolutions including 4k.
• Test and Play with Friends – Enlist the help of Friends to help build, test, and play your Forge creations on Windows 10.
• Build on Windows 10 and Publish to Xbox One – Experiences built on Windows 10 can be published to and played on Xbox One, opening the doors for countless new experiences to be enjoyed by players all over the world.

Maybe this will open the doors for a proper release of the Halo franchise for modern PCs. Maybe. We'll just have to wait and see.

It's free, but MS isn't in the business of giving things to people for free, where's the catch? If the budget of this project already has the Halo 5 game engine running on PC, with all the required PC additions, then the rest of the game probably works too right?
If it works, why not sell it?
Then we got Halo 2 with Games For Windows Live, and everyone celebrated in joy... All 20 of them (or at least that was the number given when they wanted to shut down the servers). Obviously with 20 players, nobody wants a PC version, and we're happy on consoles only. Halo never belonged on PC. We're happy with GFWL, but we hate the Halo franchise. Totally. Yep. That's the only reason.
I tried it but Im not very good at halo, I did have fun.
I also see Forge on PC as a test on several aspects, to probably release something more in the future.
The multiplayer was great at the time, very unique, but i didn't like the balance changes made to all future Halo games, maybe like the first game i'd enjoy them on PC but i wouldn't know unless i try it, i'm leaning on the side of not liking it however, time to kill got longer i feel and the stories in the games after the first game never interested me.
For reference i played a ton of multiplayer fps's on 360 back in the PC dark era, i'm totally fine playing shooters on a controller, i just think that first Halo game plays better on PC.
