• EA and Ubisoft Settle Dispute Over the Word "Ghost"

Remember when a really stupid thing happened in the gaming industry? That's too vague. Remember when that stupid thing was EA and Ubisoft were on the verge of hot legal action over the use of the word "Ghost?" Guess what? The dispute has been resolved!

EA has pulled one of their trademark filings for "Ghost." EA still has Ghost Games, developer of recent Need for Speed games and Ubisoft still has Ghost Recon. Everyone is happy. Details on the resolution are unknown but an EA rep said that "we now have an agreement with Ubisoft to carry on with our respective trademarks."

This new studio, this new Ubisoft, would focus on popular Ubisoft IPs such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. The new subsidiary was valued at about €4 billion, which includes the roughly 25% investment (€1.16 billion) from Tencent.
