• 10 Awards and 10 World Premiere Trailers for The Game Awards 2015

Geoff Keighley mentioned this morning that there will be 10 "world premiere" trailers shown off at The Game Awards 2015. These don't really mean 10 new games, but rather 10 new trailers for games that may or may not already be announced. These go alongside the 10 on-stage awards that will be given out.

There are 22 award categories this year, meaning that less than 50% of the actual awards will be given any on-stage time at The Game Awards. But hey, at least you'll get that new gameplay trailer for Far Cry Primal.

Huh... Weren't we vocal to Mr. Keighley that we wanted MORE awards, because last year didn't have enough representation for award winners and nominees? Barely any of the winners got to go on-stage. No, not next to the large screen monitor with Mr. Keighley, I meant the actual stage damn it!

Seriously, one of my biggest gripes with VGA, VGX, and TGA is that it felt more like an E3 conference in disguise. I wanted an awards show to celebrate gaming culture that respectfully acknowledges the efforts of game developers, who reinforce the fact that games are a valid medium of entertainment for everyone. Just like movies and TV award shows.

Okay maybe not VGX, because I honestly didn't know what that felt like, other than annoying.
