  • Solid Snake Voice Actor Confirms Kojima Productions has Disbanded

    Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice actor for Solid Snake and Big Boss has confirmed that Kojima Productions has officially disbanded. A Tweet made by Otsuka delivered the word that action we all knew was going to happen eventually.
    "Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is nearly complete. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I expect it will become their greatest masterpiece. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to say ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’ (Laughs.) But even if this is the end, Metal Gear Solid is immortal!"

    This essentially confirms the rumors that suggested Kojima and his crew were merely working as contractors to finish up development on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

        And thus a team of some of the best video game developers ever was closed, the future of one of the industries biggest franchises resting in the hands of a health club and pachinko operator, a demonstration of the state of the industry in 2015.

        If the staff are no longer at Konami i hope they land on their feet, and get to keep making the best gaming experiences around.
