Starbreeze, the studio behind Payday and Overkill's The Walking Dead just announced their own virtual reality headset that they're calling StarVR. The company promises that it will feature a 210 degree field of view, which destroys most other VR headsets that are currently in development. Not only that, but they are displaying this wide FOV on dual 5.5" Quad HD panels for a total of 5120x1440 resolution.

If you thought the PC hardware requirements for the Oculus Rift were on the steep side, you can probably imagine the sort of super computer you're going to need to run a game at that resolution at 60 frames per second. In the video below, the company promises that you will be able to play Overkill's The Walking Dead with StarVR. They also note that while a release date and a cost for StarVR isn't yet known, its development won't hold up development of The Walking Dead.
