  • Twitch to Crack Down on the Gratuitous T and A with New Policy Changes

Some sad news today for some Twitch celebrities like Calebhart42, Trihex, Kaceytron, Pwnographic, and countless others that like to show a bit (or a lot, in many cases) of skin while streaming. Earlier today, Twitch introduced some new policy changes that will force streamers to cover up or get kicked out.
    Dress...appropriately
Nerds are sexy, and you're all magnificent, beautiful creatures, but let's try and keep this about the games, shall we?

Wearing no clothing or sexually suggestive clothing - including lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments - is prohibited, as well as any full nude torsos*, which applies to both male and female broadcasters. You may have a great six-pack, but that's better shared on the beach during a 2-on-2 volleyball game blasting "Playing with the Boys."

    * If it's unbearably hot where you are, and you happen to have your shirt off (guys) or a bikini top (grills), then just crop the webcam to your face. Problem solved.

We sell t-shirts, and those are always acceptable. #Kappa

This is just one new policy change amidst a few others. Most of these should be common sense for most people but as with most things in life, these rules needed to be added because some people still don't know how to behave. Some of these additional rules include not harassing other people, don't stream games ahead of release without permission, don't try to evade a site suspension, don't stream sexually explicit game content, and more fairly sensible stuff.

Whether or not the new policy on covering up will affect the streamers that always or sometimes use their physical attributes to entice viewers, well, that simply remains to be seen so far. I'm sure if they have great personalities, they won't have anything to worry about.

"Don't stream sexually explicit game content", as much as i find sexual content in games to be weird and off-putting, there are a few games with sex scenes such as Indigo Prophecy and Red Dead: Redemption, and maybe someone might want to stream the hot coffee San Andreas thing for educational purposes, i'm worried that condition might censor these games.

In the actual new rules that I linked, they provide a bit more context than what I cared to share in the news post.

Nudity can't be a core focus or feature of the game in question and modded nudity is disallowed in its entirety. Occurrences in game are ok so long as you do not make them a primary focus of your broadcast and only spend as much time as needed in the area to progress the game's story.
