According to Crave Online, if you opt to play with the 30 FPS lock enabled for The Last of Us Remastered, you may be treated to some noticeably higher quality shadows.
Unfortunately, while Crave and others with early copies are making this claim, there are no comparison screenshots yet that proves that this is indeed true. If it is, however, players are now left with a choice: Do you play with an unlocked framerate that often sits at 60fps or do you lock it down to an assured 30fps framerate with better looking shadows? Framerate or shadows is what your choice now boils down to.
