I'll translate so everyone who doesn't follow Naruto can understand.

Long before the protagonist of this story was even born, the protagonist's home is founded by two guys, Hashirama Senju, and Madara Uchiha. Madara got pissed when nobody (except Hashirama) liked him. So the two went to war crossing swords and ninja magical techniques (sand was a typo, there was no sand involved). The author of this story wanted a poetic touch, so he wrote that the two battled in some landmark place called the Valley of the End. Don't worry, the significance to it is too negligible for anyone to care. Has a cool waterfall though.

Basically anybody who read the manga/comic or watched the animé would know all the strongest ninjas of the distant past come back as zombies minus the rotting flesh, and they have their intelligence and personality intact. So long story short, you can select Hashirama and Madara as playable characters in versus mode, where they would be in their zombie forms. As for living the "epic opposition," they might have the actual fight in the singleplayer campaign mode (you will likely play as Hashirama if this is the case), but the phrasing sounds more like they added the two in the roster for versus mode. As for which ninja magical technique would win? That's simply saying the game has Hashirama's ability to summon a crapton of gigantic wooden hands, and Madara's ability to summon a gigantic demon with a sword and crossbow/arrow (there's a couple of people who can do the same, but Madara's is the most powerful for being a refined and "complete" technique).

Overall translation: The series is intended for fans to enjoy. It's playable for the casual audience, but nothing will be in context because of the references and terminology used in the game. Everything was taken straight from both the animé and manga/comic (I've seen their development process, they literally have a TV playing a specific episode of the show, a book to read the corresponding comic right next to it, and a computer next to THAT to work on the actual game). So if you're confused, it's because the target audience is for fans only. You might say "duh" to me, but I do find The Warriors, Chronicles of Riddick, and the DBZ fighting games to be more accessible than Naruto games for those who haven't seen the movie/show.


As for the DLC... The two rival protagonists wearing each other's clothing is just plain stupid, Itachi wearing an apron is outright bizarre and out of character, and the short story anime is likely bullcrap filler material, rather than a meaningful bonus addition to the canon storyline. I prefer an Over Easy Battle anyways.

As for the pre-order bonuses... The summer clothing pack is clearly a way to get all the female characters more naked and sexier. So that's not particularily interesting to get. Samurai armor pack is likely a reference to one of the manga/comic title pages the author did (he does random artwork for title pages that are out of context, out of character, and not from the actual story). And mech version of the protagonist in a poster is... Okayish I guess. I'm not really interested in it, but there should be a good handful of otaku fans who would pre-order and collect this sort of thing.


Having this as a Kinect fighting game confuses me... How can this be played on PC through Steam? Do we need Logitech motion controllers? A webcam with Kinect software? Drugs so I can hallucinate playing? I don't get it.
