  • Dead Rising 3 PC May Experience Issues Above 30 Frames per Second

The latest Capcom Unity Twitch stream from E3 2014 about Dead Rising 3 on the PC raised more than a few eyebrows yesterday. The developer said that the game is best suited for 30 frames per second and that anything above it may introduce some unexpected behavior. The studio will allow users to uncap the framerate but they assume no responsibility for any oddities that may occur as a result.

NeoGAF singles out the quotes from the developers from the Twitch stream.
From the 11:35 timestamp of the stream:

"When we started the PC project we knew we weren't gonna be able to guarantee anything above 30 frames per second."

".. I love fiddling with PC games."

"What im saying is, we're not gonna stop you from uncapping the framerate, but we can't guarantee the experience."

"We just really dont know what's gonna happen, you might see some weird stuff with physics, some weird stuff with zombies."

"I really dont believe you're losing anything by playing at 30 frames per second."

"If you want feel free to uncap it, but it's gonna be wild and crazy."

I'm sure may fans wanted to see Dead Rising 3 on the PC but not like this.

The only pc ports i've seen have issues is Dark Souls, jump distance issues and physics glitch when sliding down ladders, and Street Fighter 4, very very small issues with move timing due to their frame specific nature, they're so minor almost no one notices.

If the issues are similarly minor it shouldn't be a problem, oh, and Resident Evil 4, chickens laying eggs too quickly, that was fixed though.

The chicken egg thing, it is AMAZING how many games tie timing with the FPS speed. Battlefield had a similar issue in CTE with FPS and tickrate together affecting weapons. It was increasing the ROF for a few of the higher ROF weapons or something like that.

YEAH! I forgot about the Titanfall bug also. That was a pretty big deal, but they were able to patch it fast.
