Rockstar Now Has Their Own PC Games Launcher

Get GTA: San Andreas for free if you use it.

Rockstar now has their own game launcher on the PC. The development studio quietly released this new launcher a short time ago today. They are attempting to entice users to download and use the installer by giving away a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a limited time.

Interesting enough, the Rockstar Games Launcher includes some features that took other launchers a little bit of time to add after release. This launcher includes cloud save support, a shop, and automatic updates. The prices on the store seem to...

Watch Almost an Hour of Death Stranding Gameplay

A lot of gameplay footage that may finally provide a lot of answers.

The marketing for the Kojima Productions game, Death Stranding, has left consumers with more questions than answers. It's a game from the mind of Hideo Kojima, so of course the marketing was going to be odd. The problem was, there are a lot of people that just have no idea about what the game was even about even after the numerous trailers.

Maybe sitting down and watching 50 minutes of gameplay will help clear up that confusion. If that doesn't work, then maybe a breakdown of the gameplay footage from...

Final Fantasy VII Remake Tokyo Game Show 2019 Trailer

The trailer is at the bottom after these boring words.

Square Enix showed off an all new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake this week at the Tokyo Game Show. The new trailer offers a fresh look at gameplay, the slums of Midgar, and a peak at the mini-games and summons. Midgar is home to the Shinra Electric Power Company. This kind of totally evil company is in conflict with Avalanche, a resistance group fighting to keep their planet alive. You will also get your first look at some of the Shinra operatives known as The Turks.

Square Enix also included their new artwork...

Cube World is Coming to Steam

Let me take you back to the year 2013...

In 2013, a little game called Cube World came out in an "alpha" release. It was a cute, stylized adventure-RPG that offered a ton of freedom, battles, exploration, and more. A big appeal of the alpha was being able to have all of these adventures with your friends in one world. To its credit, the limited content of the alpha was quite enjoyable but the promise of bigger and better was always just around the corner. The problem came when it was just never updated! Eventually the developer went dark.

We would sometimes...

A Big Steam Client Update was Just Released

Valve pushed out a rather beefy update to the Steam client. No, there aren't really any visual or layout changes in this update, but it does have a lot of improvements for the client for those across all platforms that Steam is available on.

Changes for Steam client for March 21, 2018

  • Valve Announces Subscription Service Dota Plus "An Evolution of the Majors Battle Pass"

Earlier today, Valve announced Dota Plus, a new monthly subscription service for Dota 2 that is "designed to help you get the most out of every match you play." They're also calling it an "evolution of the Battle Pass" that Valve tends to put out for events like The International or the Majors.

The difference now is that the Pro Circuit meant that the Majors Battle Passes are being replaced with this Dota Plus service. It won't rely on a specific start and end date and it's something that Valve promises they will add features and content to over time.
This reimagining of the Majors Battle Pass will be an ongoing,

  • CS:GO Betting Scammer PhantomL0rd Suing Twitch Because He's Probably Running Out of Money or Something

In 2016, PhantomL0rd was found to be involved in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive bet rigging and being an undisclosed partial owner of CSGOShuffle, a skin betting website.

Sorry, I meant to say that he was allegedly a total douche canoe that scammed numerous people out of money by lying to them. To make a long story short, PhantomL0rd was banned from Twitch after news broke about his "allegedly" douchey actions.

Fast-forward now to 2018 and PhantomL0rd is now suing Twitch for "breach of contract, intentional interference with contractual relations, and intentional and negligent misrepresentation in removing him from their platform." Basically,...

  • PSA: Steam Lunar New Year Sale Begins; Valve Makes Improvements to Steam Wishlist

First off, Valve kicked off the Steam Lunar New Year Sale today with "discounts on thousands of titles." I mean, it's a sale on Steam. You kind of already know what the deal is with that by now. Go forth and save money, or don't. It's entirely up to you.

Secondly, Valve pushed out an update to Wishlists on Steam.

  • Counter-Strike Co-Creator Deemed "A Risk to the Community" and Hit with $150K Bail

On Friday, Counter-Strike co-creator Jess Cliffe was hit with a $150,000 bail after being booked into King County jail on Thursday. The representative for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office, Nyoka Maraire, requested that the bail be set for $250,000. This would be for both the "community's safety and the victim's safety." The $250,000 bail was requested after it was found that Cliffe had used an adult website to contact a minor and paid for sex multiple times. During one such encounter, Cliffe had videotaped the sexual encounter "against her will." It was after this encounter that the victim (referred to in this case as the "witness") said that they "stopped...

  • Counter-Strike Co-Creator Jess Cliffe Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of a Child (Update: Valve Suspends Cliffe)

Jess Cliffe was arrested this morning (February 1, 2018) at 1:17AM (PT) for "sexual exploitation of a child." For those few of you who do not know, Jess Cliffe is a co-creator of Counter-Strike. He and Minh Le (Gooseman) created the wildly popular game back in 2000. It started as a modification for Half-Life and since became a number of very popular stand-alone products. While the police did not provide any additional details, we do know that Cliffe does not have a criminal history. He was booked at 1:17AM into King County Jail. A bail hearing is scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, February 2. As of this writing, Cliffe is still under the empl...

  • Cloud9 Defeats FaZe at ELEAGUE Boston 2018 to Become First American Roster to Win CS:GO Major

Cloud9 has become the first American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster to win a Major Championship. Cloud9 defeated FaZe Clan 14-16, 16-10, and 22-19 (2OT) in the Grand Final event that took place earlier tonight. Perhaps just as impressive are the numbers that ELEAGUE pulled in for tonight's event. More than 1,130,000 streams were broadcast at the same time. That has now set a new record on Twitch for most concurrent streams at one time for a single channel. The previous record was also apparently held by ELEAGUE from the the first Major they hosted. I say concurrent streams because there were undoubtedly far more than 1.13 million people watching, especially if people had viewing parties. ...

CS:GO Update for January 10: Panorama UI for CS:GO is... Still Not Here

The moment you're all waiting for is finally here. The moment where you are again disappointed at the lack of the Panorama UI for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Oh well, you should be used to this kind of disappointment by now. At least now you know how your parents feel.

However, today's update instead ends the Holiday Cheer event, and provides a couple of minor changes.

  • CES 2018: HTC and Valve Announce SteamVR Tracking 2.0 and Vive Pro Headset

CES 2018: HTC and Valve Announce SteamVR Tracking 2.0 and Vive Pro Headset

Today, Valve and HTC announced a minor technology bump to the HTC Vive. This bump comes in the form of SteamVR Tracking 2.0, which allows for users to link up to four Base Stations in a single space. In addition to making the jump from two to four stations, the improved technology allows for game space areas to jump to sizes as large as 10 by 10 meters. Valve tells us that the new technology is expected to ship with commercial devises later this year. The new 2.0 Base Stations will be "smaller, more reliable, and offer improved performance." Interestingly, this press release by Valve doesn't touch upon some of the other many additions that either just hit HTC Vive sets ...

Steam Hits New Record - Surpasses 18.5 Million Users Online at Once

Yet again, Steam has hit another new milestone. The online distribution platform had over 18.5 million people logged in at one time yesterday. This is not only a new record for the platform, but it's a new record by a long shot. The previous record was a decent amount under 18 million people.

The record was hit on Saturday, January 6 around 10AM (ET). Just a few months ago the top concurrent users logged in count was 15 million. It's seen a relatively steady increase of about a million additional users each month since. The exact peak found 18,528,722 people logged at once. Do keep in mind that n...
