The new tech is called Wi-Fi Dual Station and it's been designed for gamers.

If you are at all serious about playing games competitively online, chances are you've been told that a wired Internet connection is the way to go. The main reason comes down to the increased latency and potential packet loss that comes with Wi-Fi connections. Now, thanks to the efforts of Valve, AMD, Qualcomm, and a few other companies, Wi-Fi might just be a very viable alternative.

    These companies...

A group of modders are working together to update the game they love.

Facepunch Studios is hard at work developing a spiritual Garry's Mod successor that they're calling s&box. The sandbox style game started life out as an Unreal Engine project but has since swapped to using Source 2, the engine developed by Valve that is currently in use in games like Dota 2 and Half-Life: Alyx.

Thanks to the limited public availability of s&box to eager developers, Source 2 is...

  • Valve Clears Up '30 FPS Target' for Steam Deck

Valve Clears Up '30 FPS Target' for Steam Deck

30 FPS is the bare minimum accepted by Valve.

In speaking with IGN, a Steam Deck designer Pierre-Loup Griffais, said that Valve has a target of "30Hz" for their output framerate with Steam Deck. He says that everything they (Valve) have tested have run "without issues" and have hit that 800p and 30Hz target really well.

Obviously, some people took this to mean that the Steam Deck would only run games at a 30FPS cap. Some have even begun to doubt the...

  • How Many Games Did You Complete in 2025?
    by Shawn Zipay
Make up your own definition of "complete."

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?

For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
