The new listing looks to be an even bigger scam than the legit game.
Fake Steam Store listing for The Day Before

You may have been informed via various social channels that The Day Before snuck its way back on to Steam today. From all outward appearances, the page looks to be a copy of the legitimate listing for The Day Before, at least before it was pulled from all storefronts and a bunch of drama ensued.

A "new" Steam listing for The Day Before popped up a few hours ago on the Valve run storefront. It seemingly looked like the failed survival game was trying to weasel its way back into the hearts and minds of fools everywhere with a re-launch and a big "2.0" update. It had all the markings of a legitimate store page. There were the screenshots, the developer, the publisher, the video, the description, and so on.

However, a look at update history (via the app ID) for this new listing via SteamDB will show you that it's all a scam. I mean it's an even bigger scam than the actual release of The Day Before.

First off, we see that this new listing for The Day Before occupies a page that was for a game called Carrot the Cat. It was also at one point called Grand Theft Auto: Brasil. Every screenshot, description, developer, and publisher asset was changed multiple times. While it was listed as GTA Brasil, this page even had the audacity to put the developer as Rockstar Games.

In short: This is a scam. You are being lied to. Do not purchase this "new" re-release of The Day Before, not even as a meme or joke. How this page managed to fly for so long under Valve's radar is rather astounding. If you are so inclined, feel free to report the Steam page as fraud.
