More broadly, Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs.

Today, Microsoft is laying off 2.1% of its workforce. This equates to 4,800 people that are being let go. The company's XBOX division is cutting about 20% of its entire workforce. As a quick reminder: Microsoft plans to spend $190 billion on AI in 2026. In 2025, the company spent $80 billion...

Digital only after January 2028.

Starting January 2028, Sony will no longer produce physical discs for new PlayStation game releases. All games released in January 2028 and after will be available only through digital stores such as the PlayStation Store.

Sony attempts to justify this move by claiming it's a "natural direction" in order to "adapt to consumer trends as the general preference for digital media significantly outpaces physical discs."...

Lord of Hatred Review: Diablo 4 Finally Finds Its Final Form

This is Diablo 4 at its best. I mean it this time. For real.

Returning to the world of Sanctuary for this latest chapter feels like a true homecoming for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours traversing its dark and unforgiving landscapes since the base game launched back in 2023. The release of the Lord of Hatred expansion marks a significant step forward in the narrative that was originally set in motion during the initial campaign and furthered by the events of the Vesse...

Big Changes Coming to the Steam Store

Earlier this evening, it may have slipped out that Valve is planning some big changes for the Steam Store. Right now, it seems as though Steamworks developers are being notified of upcoming changes that could be rolling out over the next few weeks* (*Valve time not taken into account).

The posting to the group (not viewable by the public), says the following:
We wanted to let you know about some upcoming improvements we're working on for the Steam Store and what it

Digital Homicide Now Wants to Sue Valve

Digital Homicide first sues Jim Sterling because he had the nerve to call them out on their asset flip cookie cutter games. Then, they subpoena Valve for the real names of 100 Steam users they wanted to sue because they said mean things about them. Then, Valve removes Digital Homicide's games from Steam for essentially bullying the Steam userbase. Now, Digital Homicide wants to sue Valve. Digital Homicide is the gift that keeps on giving. Here is what Digital Homicide put up on their...

Valve Removes Digital Homicide Games from Steam

Hey, remember yesterday when we brought that story of the critically acclaimed and award winning developer, Digital Homicide's James Romine campaign to sue 100 Steam users for $18 million? Yeah, remember how they sent a subpoena to Valve requesting the real names and information for those 100 Steam users?

As expected, that didn't work out too well for Digital Homicide.

Over 11,000 Cheaters Banned from Counter-Strike

Over the past 24 hours, a massive ban wave has hit Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. According to information first noticed last night by TwitchDenmark on Reddit, the total ban count has climbed to over 11,400 new bans on record. This is now the most bans delivered in one time period for anti-cheat in CS:GO. Staff and admins of some of the detected cheats made statements, like the one you see above, saying that multiple paid "undetectable" cheat providers have been affected by this. Of...

Valve Addresses Major CS:GO Hitbox Issue with Opt-in Beta Patch

A couple of short days ago, it was discovered that the hitboxes were way off for players that turned just slightly. It was found that if a player moved their view just enough that only their character model's upper torso moved, it would throw the hitboxes off by a significant degree for almost the entire model. This included the oh so important head hitbox, which naturally resulted in people missing headshots they feel like they almost certainly should have hit. The community affectionately...

Valve Getting Sued by British Telecommunications

British Telecommunications is the latest company to file a lawsuit against Valve. BT has filed the lawsuit in Delaware, a location that apparently favors patent holders. BT claims that Valve infringes on the Gittins, Newton, Buckley, and Beddus patents.

Fortunately, this handy legal document breaks down what each of these patents is and how they may related to Valve.
Gittins (...)relates generally to providing users with content that originates from multiple subsc

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Dota 2 Announcer Pack Reveal

There is a Deus Ex: Mankind Divided announcer pack that could potentially be added to Dota 2. I say "could" because the community still needs to vote it in on the Steam Community, but I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that it will be added.

Yes, the announce pack if of none other than Adam Jensen, voiced by Elias Toufexis and was officially created by Eidos Montreal.

And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, maybe the Rick and Morty pac...

Valve Moving Offices Again Next May

Come May 2017, Valve will once again move offices into a larger area. It was reported this past week that the development studio will take up residence in the new office tower at Lincoln Square. • How Many Games Did You Complete in 2025?
    by Shawn Zipay
Make up your own definition of "complete."

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?

For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
