More broadly, Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs.

As a quick reminder: Microsoft plans to spend $190 billion on AI in 2026. In 2025, the company spent $80 billion...

Starting January 2028, Sony will no longer produce physical discs for new PlayStation game releases. All games released in January 2028 and after will be available only through digital stores such as the PlayStation Store.

Sony attempts to justify this move by claiming it's a "natural direction" in order to "adapt to consumer trends as the general preference for digital media significantly outpaces physical discs."...

This is Diablo 4 at its best. I mean it this time. For real.

Returning to the world of Sanctuary for this latest chapter feels like a true homecoming for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours traversing its dark and unforgiving landscapes since the base game launched back in 2023. • People Are Losing Their Minds Over Steam Direct Pricing That Hasn't Even Been Announced Yet

People are absolutely losing their minds over a $5,000 fee that was merely mentioned in Valve's new blog posting about Steam Direct. Oh yeah, Valve announced Steam Direct today. Steam Direct is slated to completely replace Steam Greenlight. That's the good news!

The bad news is that people are more focusing more on one particular aspect of today's announcement: Pricing. See, Valve asked developers how much they would be willing to pay to get their game added to Steam Direct....

Valve Working on Three "Full" VR Games

Valve still wants people to know that they make video games. In a recent media round table event at Valve's Bellevue HQ, Gabe Newell stated that their studio is working on three full virtual reality titles.
"Right now we're building three VR games."

There you go, that's all the news.

Naw, just kidding. He did say a bit more about these projects but not much more.

Steam Profiles Are Once Again Safe to Visit

Earlier today, a warning came by telling users not to visit any Steam profile or even their own Activity Feed within Steam. This was actually a major security issue with how the "My Guides Showcase" parsed scripts that were placed within the title of guides. This allowed for code to be injected into anybody that put these malicious guides into their Showcase. This then made visiting affected profiles a security risk along with the Activity Feed that displayed these guides that friends adde...

Astralis Wins Record Breaking ELEAGUE Major

The first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major hosted by ELEAGUE came to a thrilling conclusion today in a battle between Astralis and Virtus.pro. The final scores were 12-16, 16-14, and 16-14 wherein Virtus.pro choked away a victory. At least that's what I've heard. I didn't watch this. The event set records across Twitch earlier today. The ELEAGUE Major Grand Final became the first event in Twitch's long history to surpass one million concurrent viewers on one channel. This doesn'...

Gabe Newell Says Valve is Working on a New Single Player Game and Source 2

Valve's Gabe Newell had an AMA today in the quasi-satirical r/The_Gaben subreddit. During his brief session answering community questions, Newell revealed that Valve might actually still be a game developer.

    Who knew?

Reddit user Baldemoto asked that which should not be asked to Newell. His response will shock you (assuming you missed the headline that you clicked on to read this news piece).

  • How Many Games Did You Complete in 2025?
    by Shawn Zipay
Make up your own definition of "complete."

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?

For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
