The first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major hosted by ELEAGUE came to a thrilling conclusion today in a battle between Astralis and Virtus.pro. The final scores were 12-16, 16-14, and 16-14 wherein Virtus.pro choked away a victory. At least that's what I've heard. I didn't watch this.

The event set records across Twitch earlier today. The ELEAGUE Major Grand Final became the first event in Twitch's long history to surpass one million concurrent viewers on one channel. This doesn't include the 200,000+ that were watching on other channels.
"I am totally speechless right now. This is the most insane thing I've ever tried in my entire life... We just keep believing and we just showed that we are the best team in the world." - Peter 'Dupreeh' Rothmann on Astralis' first ever Major championship

"This is the dream, the dream has come true. This is what we worked for so many times. We finally made it... everyone kept their heads high and we played our hearts out." - Dupreeh on Astralis' ability to come back and win it all

"Ten Majors over three years. They've made so many semifinals, one of the most consistent teams but never able to make the leap. Today is the day. Today is their day." - Auguste 'Semmler' Massonnat on Astralis' win

"This is so much more than a game and you're also a big part of what makes esports so great so thank you so much." - Dupreeh to the crowd
