I saw this earlier in Discord and I thought it was just some stupid joke. Nope, apparently there's a fairly solid rumor going around that Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII will include a Battle Royale mode.

Both Kotaku and Charlie Intel posted independent rumors today that Raven Software is working on this Battle Royale mode for the Treyarch developed Black Ops IIII.
Via Kotaku:
One of those sources also echoed a report from top Call of Duty information-broker Charlie Intel saying that the new game will have a battle royale mode. That’s the kind of last-player-standing mode that’s been taking over gaming for the past year, what with the success of Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Fortnite: Battle Royale and myriad competitors. So far, no big-budget game studio has added a Battle Royale mode to a big franchise series, but it has seemed like only a matter of time before it hits a Call of Duty or a Battlefield, a Division or a Destiny.

Via Charlie Intel:
charlieINTEL heard similar rumors last month from a tipster, and that same tipster also informed CI that Raven Software has reportedly been tasked with adding a Battle Royale mode to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to fill the content gap of no campaign.

Earlier in March, an analyst suggested in a report that Activision plans to bring Battle Royale to Call of Duty at some point, saying Activision is fully aware of the popularity of Battle Royale modes.

So let me get this straight, and stick with me on this one: You're telling me that Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII may not have a single player campaign at all, but will include a Battle Royale mode? You're telling me that a franchise that tops out at 12-player servers is going to have a Battle Royale mode included? You're really going to tell me that the franchise that loves P2P connections is going to include a Battle Royale mode? And you're telling me that the franchise that adores postage stamp sized maps is going to have a Battle Royale mode?

This is some real far-fetched absurdity here. I'm honestly just rubbing my temples because it's one of those rare times where I am just at a loss for words.
