in NewsYou Spent Over $43 Billion on Video Games in 2018
According to The NPD Group, consumers spent over $43 billion on video games throughout 2018. That marks an 18% increase over 2017 spending. There are a couple of important notes about this. This figure is for both software and hardware. It also does not take into account digital sales since the NPD cannot reliably track digital sales figures.
The best selling title of the year was Red Dead Redemption 2. The second and third best selling titles in 2018 were Call of Duty: Black... -

PlayStation 4 owners with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 can now download and play Operation Absolute Zero. This is, so far, the biggest content drop for Black Ops 4 since the game was released. Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until December 18 to play this new content because timed exclusives are stupid but it is what it is.

in Call of DutyCall of Duty: Black Ops 4 Sales Surpasses $500 Million in Three Days
The lack of a single player campaign sure as hell doesn't seem to matter to most of the gaming world, as evident by the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has pulled in over $500 million (USD) in worldwide sales just over its launch weekend.
To put it perspective, that is about the same amount that Call of Duty: WWII pulled in last year. However, it is down ever so slightly from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 that pulled in over $550 million in its first three days.

in Call of DutySecret Maps Showed Off Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Launch Trailer
The launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 came out today. I mean, the game is out on October 12, 2018 so having a launch trailer now isn't exactly out of the ordinary. It's a launch trailer. It shows off some scenes of action, it has some voice over work, and the like. Since Black Ops 4 doesn't have a single player campaign, you really don't have to worry about seeing any spoilers here, so that's a plus, right? However, there are still some secrets hidden in the trailer. ...

Sony is finally starting to allow cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and other platforms, namely the Xbox One. Granted, there is only one game that you can test at the moment but it's a start!
This update represents a major policy change for Sony. Even as recently as June, the company was actively blocking cross-play with other platforms, effectively making the PlayStation 4 a gaming island.

in BattlefieldBattlefield V's Co-op "Combined Arms" Mode Coming After Launch
According to the multiplayer portion of the Battlefield V website, the co-op focused "Combined Arms" mode for the game will be released after the game's launch.
This mode joins the battle royale mode as being yet another piece of content that won't be ready for Battlefield V's launch on October 19. Hell, for a long time there, it was also rumored that the much discussed Grand Operations mode would also miss the October launch as well, but DICE was quick to squash that piece of... -
