PlayStation Plus comes out swinging once more this month.

Both Xbox and PlayStation have listed their "free" games being offered up to Xbox Live Gold Subscribers/Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of July 2021. As always, these are only "free" if you are an active subscriber to these services during the point in which they are offered. And in the case of PlayStation, you have to keep your subscription live to access the games afterwards...

From today (January 17) through to January 23, players on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One can download and play the Blackout game type from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. As a quick reminder, Blackout is the battle royale mode that was introduced this year to the Call of Duty franchise.

PlayStation 4 owners with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 can now download and play Operation Absolute Zero. This is, so far, the biggest content drop for Black Ops 4 since the game was released. Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until December 18 to play this new content because timed exclusives are stupid but it is what it is.

The lack of a single player campaign sure as hell doesn't seem to matter to most of the gaming world, as evident by the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has pulled in over $500 million (USD) in worldwide sales just over its launch weekend.

To put it perspective, that is about the same amount that Call of Duty: WWII pulled in last year. However, it is down ever so slightly from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 that pulled in over $550 million in its first three days.

Yesterday's update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 includes some changes to the Blackout battle royale mode. Those playing Duos will notice that the player count has now hit 100 players, while those playing in Quads are up to 88 players.

Activision announced today that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was set a new launch day sales record. According to the publisher, Black Ops 4 is the "biggest one day digital release" in their history.

The update is being worked on and is based off of a number of user reports. Sony is finally starting to allow cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and other platforms, namely the Xbox One. Granted, there is only one game that you can test at the moment but it's a start!

This update represents a major policy change for Sony. Even as recently as June, the company was actively blocking cross-play with other platforms, effectively making the PlayStation 4 a gaming island.

The latest PUBG Community Weekly Post from the developers says that the Xbox One X version of the still popular battle royale game will get a "temporary" visual downgrade. This is being done in order to smooth out performance issues that still plague the game on the Microsoft platform.

Twitch streamer Guy "Dr. Disrespect" Beahm abruptly ended his stream today after someone shot at his house. At one point during his stream. Beahm suddenly walked off camera for around a minute. After returning sans fake wig and sunglasses, he informed his viewers that he would be ending the stream.
