PlayerUnknown, also know as Brendan Greene, has parted ways with PUBG parent company Krafton and is venturing forth on his own. Greene's PlayerUnknown Productions is an independent studio based in Amsterdam. First details on the 7 launch maps revealed by EA.

The names and first details on the 7 launch maps shipping with Battlefield 2042 were just revealed. And before you go off about how there's "only 7 maps" you have to understand this: These maps are large, very large.

According to JackFrags, the scale of the maps is impressively large with at least one, Breakaway, being about the same size as PUBG's Vikendi map. And how big is Vikendi? It's 5.9km². So, we're looking at maps...

The free version of PUBG is shutting down this April.

A couple of years back, PUBG Corporation released a graphically light and free version of their popular battle royale game. It was called PUBG Lite and was made to be ran on machines that were not able to handle the graphic fidelity of the original title. Sadly, the game is getting shut down come April 29th, as confirmed today by the game's publisher, Krafton.

This open world survival title has already surpassed two million copies sold in just 13 days. Not only that, but the team shares word that they hit another major milestone with a peak concurrent player count hitting above 360,000. A spiritual successor to Dead Space?

Dead Space may be dead and buried, especially since EA hasn't done anything with the IP in years and the studio that developed the games, Visceral, was shut down ages ago by EA. However, just because Dead Space is no more, doesn't mean that its spirit cannot live on.

Finally, systems are powerful enough for 60fps.

The PUBG Console Team just revealed some of their next-gen upgrade plans for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (or PUBG for short). Thanks to the increased power of the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, PUBG will now run "up to" a lovely 60fps, which has been a long time coming for home consoles.

This also means that PUBG will be playable on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 from day one of each console's release....

70 million. That is the number of copies that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has sold across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at present. This figure comes courtesy of the game's developers at the PUBG Corporation.

PUBG as it is more commonly called, was released back in March 2017 as an Early Access release on PC via Steam. A full launch came later in the year on December 20, 2017.
