Destiny 2: Heresy is now available to players across all platforms. This is the final Episode for the year of content following the release of The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2. Today's release of Heresy includes new activities, new story, both new and returning weapons, new subclass Aspects, and more.
In Heresy, players return to the Deadnaught, a popular location from the original Destiny. Players will utilize 25 new artifact mods to boost their Arc powers or debuff enemies.
A new three-player activity, The Nether, will see the Guardians storming the Dradnaught to "stem the tide of Taken from descending onto the planets and moons of the Sol system." The Nether randomizes patrol zones, counters, and objectives and can be played solo or as a fireteam. Various boons can be used to empower abilities and weapons. There will also be various negative modifiers active per run, such as no health regeneration and limited ammo drops.
New and returning weapons will also be added to the loot pool, including the return of Season of Arrivals weapons, refreshed with an updated perk pool and enhancement capabilities. Additionally, Heresy brings an update to Vault of Glass weapons, which now come with updated perks and can be crafted once players unlock their patterns.
Today's new content is accompanied by the 8.2.0 update.
