Hazelight founder Josef Fares announced that their newest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has officially gone gold! This means that the game is feature complete and ready for its release on March 6. Fares made the big announcement early in the afternoon on January 27th.
To go along with this milestone, Hazelight released a trailer for Split Fiction. This is the second time we've gotten a look at the game that sends co-op partners through a blend of sci-fi and fantasy worlds. The initial reveal of the game came just this past December at The Game Awards 2024.
This new trailer features Fares showing off "more of the inventive co-op mechanics and ever-changing gameplay variety the studio is known for." We also get a good look at some of the optional adventures, called Side Stories, sprinkled throughout the main story levels. Included is a look at some of the unique gameplay mechanics the characters Mio and Zoe will try to master such as surfing on sandfish or snowboarding down a mountain in the middle of a futuristic battlefield.
Look for Split Fiction to release this March for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
In Split Fiction, players work together as Mio, a realist Sci-Fi writer, and Zoe, an optimistic fantasy novelist, embark on a split-screen adventure through their own stories. As they leap across thrilling and radically contrasting worlds in their attempt to escape, players will coordinate with each other and build new skills and tools all while uncovering the power of unexpected friendship.
