A new rumor suggests that the virtual pop singer, Hatsune Miku, will be coming to Fortnite in 2025. This rumor has been reported by both Shiina and FNBRintel, both of which have been quite accurate in their previous Fortnite related leaks.
If you aren't in the know on who Hatsune Miku is, she is a virtual anime-looking teen popstar created in Japan. Miku was first unleashed upon the world in 2007 and uses "Vacaloid" software to create her singing voice. Her voice is based off of audio samples from actress and voice actor Saki Fujita.
In addition to being the voice behind hundreds of thousands of songs, Miku has actually made several concert performances via 3D holograms or via large screens. Miku has also performed on TV, starred in games, been the face of various sponsorships, and has been featured across all sorts of different merchandise. Some of the games featuring Miku include Sega's Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, Just Dance, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Miku is also the creator of Minecraft*.
Given that this is still just a rumor, it's entirely possible that this collaboration never pans out. We also do not know if Miku will be a cosmetic skin that can be purchased, if she will play a role in Fortnite's new Japan-themed season, or if she may even be a part of the Fortnite virtual concert series.
*Obviously this isn't actually true
