Several bug fixes have also been included.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fans have been waiting about a year for Respawn Entertainment to do something about the rather abysmal performance present in the game. Those performance woes including, but not limited to, poor framerates in several key areas as well as a heavy amount of traversal stutter.

Though several patches have already been released for the game before now and while there have been a few improvements here and there for the game, those performance woes remained intact.

Today, Respawn and EA just released Patch 9 for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The update seems mainly focused on performance improvements to the PC version of the game. It also removes the Denuvo DRM from the PC version of the game, promises optimization for ray tracing performance, and made some improvements to those playing with a mouse and keyboard.

From what I'm reading online about this patch, several people have noticed an improvement to average framerates. However, traversal stutter is still very much present. Some users have also reported that known trouble spots, such as around the Rambler's Reach area, are still extremely problematic for stutters and big framerate drops.

The full patch notes are below.

Denuvo to Offer Independent Benchmarks to Prove It Doesn't Cause Performance Issues
      by Shawn Zipay
The controversial DRM system has long been blamed for poorly performing PC games.

Despite the years of complaints from PC players, Denuvo is still the go-to option when it comes to adding anti-tamper and anti-piracy measures into new game releases. It's also still just as common to hear complaints from players saying that Deunvo is responsible for any and all performance woes that a player faces when playing a video game with it included.

Denuvo Anti-Cheat Getting Removed from DOOM Eternal in Next Update
      by Shawn Zipay
Consider this a horribly failed experiment.

id Software executive producer Marty Stratton took to Reddit to announce that the much detested Denuvo Anti-Cheat will be removed in the next update for DOOM Eternal. For those who are not aware, the previous update for DOOM Eternal added in the third-party anti-cheat to the game.

Much like the anti-cheat used in Valorant, the Denuvo Anti-Cheat operates with elevated permissions at ring 0, or at the kernel level of a system....

EA Releases Statement on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Technical Nightmare
      by Shawn Zipay
      Enough with the excuses.

If you haven't yet heard, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor came out today and wow is it ever a mess. The game suffers from a myriad of technical issues across all platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and especially PC.

Platforms have exhibited everything from textures and objects taking upwards of 15 seconds to load into a scene, to "Performance" modes on consoles struggling hard to hit 60FPS, dropped frames and inconsistent frame times...

Legit Game Buyers Punished as Denuvo DRM Fully Cracked
      by Shawn Zipay
Mandatory 14-day online checks or no gaming for you.

Apparently, there are now exactly zero games with Denuvo that have not been either cracked or bypassed. This is according to Tom's Hardware who cite a few different hacking groups in their report.

As of April 27th, there are "officially" no games with Denuvo's anti-tamper and DRM software left to crack. This is due to the efforts of groups such as the MKDev collective and DenuvOwO. These two groups found...
