Good luck avoiding all of the spoilers.

It looks like Sony made a little "oopsie" this morning as it gave access to Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion a week ahead of its actual release. Users reported that by using the game streaming service through PlayStation 5, they were able to access pre-loaded content that should not have been released yet.

This content is obviously available through Sony's servers to allow players to pre-load ahead of the official June 4th release. Something along the way was misconfigured on Sony's backend that granted full access to The Final Shape.

Word of this mistake quickly appeared on the Destiny subreddit and from there it spread like wildfire. That subreddit also offers a spoiler-free explanation on what happened and what content was accessible.

In short, those that access The Final Shape through game streaming were given a fresh account. As a result of this fresh character, most players lacked the requirements to fully access all there is to access in the expansion. Still, players did have access to the new map and inventory pages. This means that things like the new Season Pass, rewards, new Eververse items, and more were readily available.

Also viewable were items within the "Collections" page. These items include new weapons, armors, gear, cosmetics, mods, and even exotic gear. The new raid gear and raid armor mods were also viewable through the Collections page.

Very few people were able to hit the necessary rank in order to dig into the Final Shape campaign proper. Those that did were quickly cut off from the content as Bungie began taking the servers offline. Fortunately, this means that the full story for The Final Shape has not been leaked online.

As there are still some manner of spoilers floating around, it would be in the best interest of any fan who loves the game to try to avoid the obviously places where spoilers are known to show up.
