  • Full Roster for Marvel Rivals

The Overwatch-esque Hero shooter was just revealed today.

If you liked Overwatch (let's ignore Overwatch 2) but thought it could do with a little dash of Marvel, then perhaps the newly announced Marvel Rivals (loud volume warning) is going to be right up your alley. NetEase's Marvel Rivals is an upcoming 6v6, third-person hero shooter that was revealed earlier today.

A closed alpha for Marvel Rivals will begin in May. It's coming to us from NetEase Games, with a team of developers that have previously worked on franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. Marvel Rivals will be a team-based PvP title that will be free-to-play for PC and it is coming to Steam. Console versions of the game were not mentioned by NetEase in their announcement.

NetEase Games and Marvel Games are excited to announce their latest collaboration: Marvel Rivals, a cooperative, Super Hero team-based PVP shooter! Players can assemble an ever-evolving all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains, while battling with unique super powers across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps from across the Marvel Multiverse. Marvel Rivals is in development for PC by a NetEase team composed of global talent, who previously worked on hit franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.
Between some early leaks and today's trailer, the roster looks to include about 18 different heroes and villains (h/t Dot Esports for this list):
    • Black Panther
    • Bruce Banner / Hulk
    • Doctor Strange
    • Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy)
    • Iron Man
    • Loki
    • Luna Snow (New Agents of Atlas)
    • Magik (X-Men)
    • Magneto (X-Men)
    • Mantis (Guardians of the Galaxy)
    • Namor
    • Peni Parker (Spider-Verse)
    • Rocket Raccoon (Guardians of the Galaxy)
    • Scarlet Witch (X-Men)
    • Spider-Man
    • Star-Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy)
    • Storm (X-Men)
    • The Punisher
Some outlets suggest that a female Galactus may also be featured in the game, but that does not seem to be verified just yet. Doctor Doom is also mentioned and seems to be the main villain for the core storyline. As far as more "notable" Marvel characters are concerned, it's more than likely that they will be featured in future "seasons" for the game. You all know how this sort of thing works by now.

Or, you could call it a... SuperHero shooter.
I'll show myself out. No, really, because I hate hero shooters.
