This time it probably isn't a beta release.

Warner Bros. Games and developer Player First Games just announced that their free-to-play platform fighter, MultiVersus, will be officially released on May 28, 2024. This return comes after the game was taken offline for several months following the conclusion of what Warner Bros. called an "open beta" for MultiVersus. An "open beta" that had its own Battle Pass and microtransactions.

This actual release will include a new PvE game mode, additional fighters, more stages, "improved visuals," and more. It will once again be available as a free download on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. There will be full support for cross-play and cross-progression for the game.

MultiVersus features a strong emphasis on online cooperative gameplay that is complemented by an ever-expanding roster of popular characters based on Warner Bros. Discovery franchises, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Black Adam (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz, and Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Finn the Human and Jake the Dog (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Iron Giant (The Iron Giant), LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy); Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith (Rick and Morty); Gizmo and Stripe (Gremlins); and an extraordinary original creature named Reindog.
