Rundown 8.0: Duality is the name of the latest content expansion for the "hardcore" co-op FPS, GTFO. This release marks the game's 12th free major content update since it was released in 2019. This release also brings the game's mission count up to over 80.
Developer 10 Chambers claims that this is the conclusion to the game's overall story arc. A story that tasks a team of four prisoners with trying to escape an underground complex full of all sorts of nasties. GTFO isn't a game where you can just go off on your own. Teamwork plays a vital role in surviving the challenging levels.
10 Chambers says that while this is the final content release, GTFO will continue to get support in the form of bug fixes. 10 Chambers is also actively developing a new heist-focused game, Den of Wolves.
GTFO currently has a free weekend underway (at least through Steam), with a 40% off sale that ends on December 21.
Held against their will by a mysterious entity called “The Warden,†the survival of GTFO’s cast of unfortunate prisoners depends on a team’s ability to communicate, coordinate, and manage their ammunition. As they travel deeper into the complex, searching for a way out, players will encounter increasingly horrific creatures, each posing unique challenges and requiring a different tactical approach. In GTFO, teamwork means the difference between life and a violent, visceral death. To The Warden, everyone is expendable.
Players can customize their load-outs before expeditions, choosing roles best suited for the dangers ahead. They’ll additionally uncover Artifacts that can be redeemed for Boosters (or Attribute Booster Modules) that impact their skill stats (for better or worse), as well as find clues that unravel the mystery behind their captivity.​
