Gearbox games referenced in LinkedIn post.

A developer that worked at Lost Boys Interactive, a support studio owned by Gearbox Software, may have let slip a number of unannounced Gearbox titles. In a now deleted LinkedIn post, the developer made references to Borderlands 4, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2, and a new Brothers in Arms game. Also mentioned is that each of these titles are using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4).

This removed LinkedIn post was first reported on by Eurogamer on November 19. The LinkedIn profile in question belongs to a former studio technical director that was working on contract at Lost Boys Interactive. The post said that they "supervised 66 employees" as they worked to "plan and engineer development on Borderlands 4 UE4, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands UE4, and Brothers in Arms UE4."

A LinkedIn post from a former employee of a Gearbox subsidiary leaking upcoming Gearbox games such as Borderlands 4, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2, and Brothers in Arms.

The statements mentioned by the LinkedIn post do not indicate the actual development status of any of these projects. They could be in the earliest of development stages for all we know, meaning that they are still several years away from seeing the light of day. Naturally, there's also no saying whether or not any of these projects will be cancelled.

The fate of these projects could be in jeopardy purely due to restraints put on Gearbox by parent company Embracer Group. Over the past several months Embracer has laid off huge swaths of employees, closed down studios completely, and is potentially looking to sell Gearbox off entirely.
