The price increase announcement came via the PlayStation Blog. It is here where Sony justified the price hike by saying that it will "enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service."

Even with this price increase for the 12-month options, it will still save you money when compared to buying 12 1-month options or 4 3-month options.

This price increase for PlayStation Plus comes just a couple of months after Microsoft announced their own price increase for Xbox Game Pass.
